Hot damn, that’s customer service Summit. Not that I can really do anything since I still have to wait for Saturday for my pistons to come in (direct from manufacturer), then next thursday to get back from vacation to take them to the shop. Maybe I can change out my motor mounts instead.

Which grind is that? Did you adjust your selection for the new compression ratio?

Still the 260h. very very mild. More concerned with smooth idle and vaccu

Still a great choice. I thought you were going smaller.

I love ordering from Summit, I always pick the slowest shipping and it’s here next day basically. (Metro Detroit)

It’s a pretty cool logo for a motor mount company.

I believe there is only one size smaller, this seems like a good safe
compromise. their software says I should expect 288 HP with these new pistons. I am assuming that is net and not gross HP. 300 is a comfortable place to be so I am a happy boy.

It’s refreshing from most companies being out in California
for some reason. I just got the free shipping but I am only in pittsburgh so it really didn’t have to go far.

Sure is.
Say, where were yours made? Both of m y engine mounts are identical, same part number and everything, but one was labeled as made in USA while the other was apparently made in China. Aside from that, no other perceptible differences between them. (Trans mount says made in Korea.)

same PN, both made in china.

You doing the break in or are they?
![]() 07/26/2018 at 12:57 |

looks like they are. told me it was going to be an extra 500 and considering it will probably need tuned, re-timed, and possibly re-jetted, I think it’s a good expense.
![]() 07/26/2018 at 13:01 |

It absolutely is.
If they are willing to assemble it, break it in, and give it a dyno tune for $ 500 that’s a good deal.

The big question is spark plugs. They don’t list “colder” plugs for this engine, and I tried the trick of putting in numbers to try to find something
so I am going to have to go on dimensions, or call a manufacturer, neither are things I really want to do.

What’s the stock plug part number?
![]() 07/26/2018 at 13:17 |

NGK is giving the XR45, (NGK-4536) and AC Delco is giving the R
46SZ

Can you call Summit and have them cross-reference and give plugs one and two steps colder?
![]() 07/26/2018 at 13:23 |
|
I totally can. I’m just complaining that the manufacturers don’t make this even remotely easy.

Back when they had the “big books” at the parts stores it was. You just crack it open and follow the table across.

Huh. Well I wouldn’t feel to o bad about that. As near as I can tell, the Chinese one looks to be every bit as good as the American one. So I don’t think you’re missing out on anything there.

Cant be any worse than 70s GM.

i wish we had rapid service like that here.
10 days for a part to travel 623km (387 miles) with Australia Post, FML!

Ouch. With how big Australia is I don't understand how it has all these island-esque supply chain issues.

easy, Australia Post.
they are fucking USELESS!
(and that is being polite)
